My fanaticism for Shirota Yuu, or Shirotan began with Tenimyu. It continued with the various acting projects he's had big and small that I've had the opportunity to watch and enjoy (Samurai High School, Rookies, Rookies Sotsugyou,Team Batista and Koshonin among others). Now, he steps out of the platform of D-Boys and Tenimyu to pursue his solo singing career, going by the name U next month.

This is the PV of Sisyphus, one of the three songs included in his first single. The PV of the two other songs, U and Heart of Glass, also two epically awesome songs, are also available on YouTube in the same channel.

--It's been a while since Shirotan's wowed me with his voice. And these new songs are just giving me chills every time I listen to them. (~u~)

The song U is currently being used as the theme song for the JDrama Shitsuren Hoken, where Shirotan plays one of the lead roles named Kazuki Ayumu or Luke. This drama is currently airing, and I hope to find a subbed version to watch his acting prowess once more.

Morning everyone!
I'm here at the NAIA Terminal with my family, spending waiting time at the Mabuhay Lounge (for passengers in Business Class). Our flight was originally scheduled for 6:15am, but it was delayed by an hour for "servicing" or something of the plane we'll be taking.

Not a problem, considering there's this wicked fast wi-fi connection and a desktop to boot. Hehehe.

So we'll be heading to Singapore this time around! It'll be my first time going there so it'll really be a new experience. I have my digicam ready to take as much pictures as I can (and remind myself to have my mom/dad take a picture with me in it xD) to capture the experience and share some highlight with you all when I'm able to.

So for now, I'll go update a few stuff while waiting for the boarding call, so hope to you again on Sunday!

After 3 years of waiting it has finally arrived!!! T^T
My high school year book was in the works (curse the printer) for many many months and finally, we have it. There are still some errors but on the whole it looks wonderful.

Now, onto some random tidbits of information.

First is that I haven't really gotten to make decent blog posts both due to my laziness and work-related issues. And since it was the long weekend and much has already happened these past two days I think now would be the best time for such an entry, if only a teaser for things to come.

Two days ago I went with some of my family to Visita Iglesia out in the East part of the country, visiting seven different churches in the Rizal area. Some were quite interesting, if I daresay so myself.

Yesterday I spent the day with Kai, treating her to lunch at our frequent restaurant Teriyaki Boy Katipunan. Afterwards we visited a few churches close by for a mini-Visita Iglesia of our own. Then later on we came over to my place to spend some time waiting for people to come back to her place. Considering we haven't seen each other for more than a week this welcome day together was needed.

Tomorrow's Easter Sunday, and with it comes the traditional Egg Hunting! 8D It'll be loads of fun with candies and prizes galore. I'm looking forward to this more than previous years because Kai will be attending as well.

I wanna share a picture or two of my friend Nikka's plushie of Echizen
Ryouma in a Karupin costume. Ryoupin-kun, in short. xD

And earlier this evening my mom and I passed by Tickles in Greenbelt where I spotted the CUTEST hedgehog plushie!!!! I want it. ;A;

So Makati's slowly becoming a more familiar place for me after having gone there for work with my mom this past week. I just finished completing my first week at OJT as a QA Analyst/Game Tester for Anino Games, and I have to say what a thrill it's been so far. I don't even keep record of the hours I spend there (yet), but one thing's for sure: I'm making every second count!

I may end up exhausted at the end of the day but it's well worth it, considering the fun I get to spend in the office. I get my own workstation and get to play games ever so often for work that it's awesome. Of course that's not to say I just play and play and play. I look out for bugs and crashes which isn't as easy a task as expected.

It was an interesting night driving home today. I just came back from taking Kai home and as I slowed to a stop just outside our house and honked the horn, I noticed that no one else was home, granted that it was already 9 in the evening. From my rear view mirror, I saw two sets of headlight approaching and signaled right to indicate that I was waiting for the gate to open.

As our house help finally came to open the gate, I check the rear view again and noticed that the first car also signaled right: my sister.

I drove the car to the inside parking space and set the gears to park, looking in my rear view once more to see my sister come in as well. And then moments later, my parents drove in as well! xDDDD

Coincidence of coincidence that we all came home at about the same time.
on Saturday, April 2, 2011
So today my sister and I accompanied our mom to do the biweekly grocery shopping, and taking advantage of the trip I got to get my mom to buy me a few things, INCLUDING:

A bag of good ol' Frooty Lollipops and

ARTEMIS FOWL: THE ATLANTIS COMPLEX

Finally, something to bring me back to my reading roots. Hahaha. xD

Woot!
I have an OJT with Anino Games as a Game Tester. :3
It's going to be a lot of fun. :)
Will be going to school next week to discuss things with my Practicum Coordinator but things look okay. :)

Grades are coming out tomorrow.

But the website that manages that has a tendency to update the grades accordingly. This time last year I created a little Excel computator to help me figure out my grades ahead of time, and it's helped me lessen the anxiety coming into the day of the releasing of grades. xD

One awesome thing about it is that we have this indicator if we pass of fail the subject, and I'm proud to say that I PASSED ALL MY SUBJECTS!!

^o^/ ^o^/

What's more is I think I'm actually improving without realizing it; my cumulative QPI is increasing more or less so I'm quite happy with that. So yay yay.

AND THAT OFFICIALLY MAKES ME A SENIOR. ;A; OMG.
on Tuesday, March 29, 2011
Yes, ugh. Stress has not come as annoying as this. I had to print out roughly 65 pages of my group's Philosophy final paper since the original one we submitted was misplaced. And we were asked to drop off a copy at the school earlier tonight which really got my pissed. So much for enjoying my break. -___-#

Anyway... now that that's out of the way I applied for a little company called Anino Games today upon referral of a friend of mine who currently works there and I believe I'm scheduled for an interview this Friday afternoon so cross fingers and good luck to me. Another trip to Makati here we go!
on Monday, March 28, 2011
Accompanied Kai to Makati today via commuting so it was a little adventure in itself that involved a whole lot of walking! Fun fun day it was. :3 We got lost and found our way again that it was funny. xD

It's damn hot. Dx And the brownout earlier this afternoon was not helping in any way. Earth Hour's coming tonight, so hopefully it'd be a cool night despite the humidity.

Hopefully I can get everything done in time. Dx

Can't wait for Friday to come along! Dx Final stretch!
on Saturday, March 19, 2011

Friday was a stressful day. But it was a nice one too. This was one of the reasons I made the effort to come to school for my first class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (except for when I had to miss class for important reasons such as bereavement or sickness). It was a moment of goodbyes, but also one of good memories. I may not have had the opportunity to come to know all of my classmates in my Theology 131 class very well, but under Sir Herman Rochester for a semester was probably one of my best choices. I learned a lot, though it didn't really reflect much on the test results but I don't think that matters much.

I enjoy doing things like this. Class pictures never fail to leave a smile on your face for whatever reason. ^____^

Monday's the schedule of our final exam, and I while that may officially be the end of our time together, it was a good run. Thank you for everything. ^___^ I'm happy to have met new friends, and I'm happy to have learned more about myself.
I just finished watching the 49 episodes of Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger!

It's funny how I'm treading backward and forward along the Sentai Series that began with Shinkenger. So yeah, I really got interested watching the Versus movie of Go-Onger VS Gekiranger, and more so when I found out that two Tenimyu actors were playing awesome roles in the sentai series!

The lead role, Kandou Jyan, Geki Red, was played by Seigaku 2nd Cast's Oishi Shuuichiro, Suzuki Hiroki, and the antagonist-turned supporting character Kurojishi Rio was played by Seigaku 2nd Cast's Inui Sadaharu, Araki Hirofumi.

At this point they've helped me believe in the sentai series and I do plan on watching the rest of them if I can. Right now I'm in the process of collecting the episodes of Boukenger and Magiranger alongside the developing Gokaier series ongoing!!

^_________^ Sentai series rock!

Almost there!!
on Saturday, March 12, 2011
Decisions, decisions.

So my junior year is going to be over in roughly two weeks, and that means the start of thinking about thesis and going for OJT (on-the-job training) for the summer. And frankly, I'm still a bit  on the fence with finding an OJT I'm comfortable with.

Out of the companies I applied for during the job fair back in January, HP's contacted me yesterday afternoon for an initial interview. I'm looking forward to a call for the second interview sometime later this month, but I'm also considering an internship in school to get a head-start for a possible thesis.

It's still a bit early to decide but I'm hoping the opportunities come along. :3

Hypersensitivity Reaction to Alaxan last Monday! T~T

My parents rushed me to three different hospitals (New Era, Capitol and St. Luke's), assuming to confine me to get medicine injected into me but at our last stop I was prescribed oral medication instead so I could go home. 8D Yei~ But while I was St. Luke's they were quick and gave me this standard hospital bracelet I wore for a few days while I was resting at home.

And today, I was lucky to get the sort of grand prize of our organization's week-long project Yummiest Bytes: a 4GB USB!!!! 8DDDD Yei~

Apologies for having been unable to post this past week. There were just a lot of sidetracks that happened so huhuhu.

The week's gone by with school stuff left and right; not to mention quite a load of family matters this weekend. Yesterday we visited Gramps and Grandma at the cemetery for the afternoon. Some fun fun stuff happened while we were there. :P I had fun taking pictures of my cousin Dabz and my nephew Tristan.

Friday seems to be a lazy day for everyone. Me included, although my day was more active than lazy when it came to commuting. Then again this whole week I was without a car going to school so the increase of the Jeepney fare was not something I got to avoid this week. Oh well.

Spent a hearty lunch at KFC with Kai then went to her house to rest up for the afternoon. Soft beds FTW. ~u~ Then commuted home to catch the last jeep that crossed Commonwealth, thank goodness.
on Thursday, February 3, 2011
So today I was invited to tacos (yes, tacos) by my girlfriend after our 3-4:30pm classes. She and her thesismates had just finished their thesis defense and wanted to celebrate. So three of them - excluding the fourth member for reasons disclosed - decided to have a little get-together at one of the houses for tacos. xD

It was a funny thing because Kai's groupmates were the one who invited me so I feel involved in some way so yay~ Spent the afternoon having tacos and drinking Coke and playing Angry Birds on the PC until around 7-ish when we came here to the house.

Rested a bit before taking Kai home. It's these spontaneous outings that are good, I think. :)

This month I decided to kick the alternative Japanese titles since it was beginning to become a hassle opening GoogleTranslate to get the job done. So hehe.

Finally back in my own little space! Slept over at Kai’s place last night since I joined her and her mom do their grocery shopping at SM Marikina and to dinner at Max’s Restaurant.

Mmmmmmm CHICKEN. But guh I think I ate so much! Ate lunch at Teriyaki Boy, then had a slice of Shakey’s pizza during PolSci and then dinner.

But yes, happy happy.

Slept over at their place since it was dark and I didn’t think I’d make the commute home for reasons of past experiences (like my phone going MIA).

For the past few days while awaiting results of the AIESEC Assessment Center, I'm beginning to wonder if I really want to continue pursuing this internship abroad. I admit it's a nice opportunity that comes once in a blue moon, but I'd like to think and believe that there really is something more than just going abroad and experiencing something for myself.

I want to go abroad. I definitely plan to. But it can wait until I've graduated from college.

イーストウッドから装身具。(いいすとうっどからそうしんぐ) Īsutouddo kara sōshingu. trans. Trinkets from Eastwood.

So today was another get-together for dinner at Eastwood City! Originally, the plan was that the 6 siblings (aka Mom and her siblings) were to go and have dinner together and then meet with us cousins for dessert after. But since plans are never full-proof some of us tagged along for eventual dinner at Italianni's! Yei for Italian food!

This is my Uncle Joey and my crazy nephew Tristan. It's the first time since Uncle Joey came back from Canada after migrating back in August 2008, but it's great to know that Tristan still remembers his 'Grumpy' Joey.

What was interesting at Eastwood was this little fountain water show that reminded me so much of Bellagio back in Las Vegas.

Since Uncle Joey, whose family relocated to Canada some 3 years ago, was going to be leaving the next day, my cousin Dabz and I accompanied him to look for a shirt to bring back to his son Jostin, the third half of the group. After much walking we went all the way to the old mall where I stopped by 2Rats and subconsciously went looking for a copy of Aquarian Age (アクエリアンエイジ)and to my surprise, they finally have one in stock!!!!!!! キタ━━━(゚∀゚)━━━!!!

You cannot believe my giddiness.

Well anyway, after that we stumbled upon a little shop called Tees "R" Us that pressed stickers onto shirts, which was pretty cool. Browsing around for a while we finally decided that this was the place to get a shirt for Jostin! And in the spirit of giving, Uncle Joey let me and Dabz pick out ones for ourselves as well! Thanks Uncle Joe!!!

おじいちゃんの抑留。(おじいちゃんのよくりゅう)Ojīchan no yokuryū. trans. Grandpa's Internment.

I'm never good at saying goodbye to a loved one when they die. The first time I attended a memorial was some 5 years ago in April 2006 when my maternal grandmother died. And then  a little over 2 years ago in August 2008, my paternal grandfather died. And now, just at the start of the year 2011, my maternal grandfather passed away. It's never easy to accept these kinds of facts but that, I guess, is the fact that one has to accept.

My grandpa's memorial service lasted for five days, starting two days after his passing. It was bittersweet considering the fact that the memorial chapel we were staying at was just next to the one my grandma (his wife) was back in 2006. On the evening of the fifth day, when he was already cremated and in his little marble urn, there was a eulogy. And like all eulogies, the waterworks of tears flowed frequently, if not the constant sounds of sniffling noses.

There were plenty of stories tossed about; some serious and heartfelt, others comedic and yet still heartfelt. Here was a man who was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and what have you that lived life to its absolute fullest. Naturally when my turn came, tears were not a stranger to me. I cried, laughed and cried some more. Because I was so close to him, I'm glad that at least my girlfriend was in attendance to help me through these difficult times.

On the day of the burial, to my surprise, I didn't find myself crying immensely as I originally thought I would. Tears still fell, but not to the point that I couldn't breathe through my nose properly anymore. I found myself smiling fondly, thinking only of good memories of the man I knew and loved as my Grandpa George.

Grandpa spoiled me while he was here. Since he always got money from my mom from his account in Philippine pesos, he would usually coax/force me to get 100 pesos from his wallet as a daily allowance. Just because he wanted to. Grandpa was my partner in a lot of things. When my Grandma Rose died, he and I became email buddies for a while, exchanging email whenever possible. I'm glad I got to learn about his job and his life both from emailing with him and chatting with him over breakfast when he was here.

If anything, I would think that Grandpa prepared me for this occasion. I managed to pull through the time I should have cried the hardest by clinging on to the thought that he would always be there. Grandpa George was someone who always enjoyed joking around and making people smile when they were down. So for Grandpa, I made sure that a sad occasion wasn't so sad for me, especially because he would tell me that everything just blows over and life goes on; that even if he isn't around anymore, he has left knowing that everyone is ready to take on the world.

I'll follow up this entry with pictures some other time. :) For now, BED.

おじいちゃんより. Ojīchan yori. trans. More than a Grandpa.

So as is my custom, I composed a poem for my grandfather who recently passed away. You can read it below. I plan to write out a copy of this to bury with him. You will surely be missed, grandpa! ;A;/

More than a Grandpa

Always smiling and joking around,
Is a memory shared by all.
The things you did and the things you said,
Remain with us and the days to come.

When you came home and stayed with us,
We'd spend mornings having breakfast together.
Even if I had to rush to school afterwards,
There'd be plenty of time to talk about anything.

Ever since forever you were always so open,
You let everyone be what they feel they should be.
You never imposed yourself, just gave advice,
And perhaps that was the reason why you were so loved.

The day you were rushed to the hospital,
Was where everything began to dwindle down.
You persevered, but fell short,
Waited long, yet not long enough.

After getting reassurance,
Making sure everyone would be okay.
Finally, you laid to rest,
Breathed your last and went on ahead.

To me you were more than a grandpa,
More than a big belly and a smiling face.
To me you were an irreplaceable friend,
The Grandpa George I'll never ever forget.

Finally, my Navi Planner is brought to full use now that it's the year 2011. I must say I found this appealing than collecting Starbucks stickers like I've been doing since 2007. It's a fresh start indeed!

What's more, my dad came home from the States today and brought home a few things for me. :D

The first is a new battery for my laptop. My second HP battery died after a few minutes but I think it's still good for some use. I'll have to confirm. But for the meantime, I'm on a new battery, and am currently draining it down to 0% to see how long it lasts. So far so good though. Starting at around 94% something about an hour back and the percentage is at 63%. Not bad! Looks like this will be good for about 2-3 hours. Hopefully I can keep the battery life like that for a long while.

But that is not the main point of my blog entry today! CHOCOLATE RAISINS~ Some two years ago I make a random post about it here just as I was starting out this blog (oh how time flies so fast), but I never got around to posting a picture. Well, now I have~ If I may say in the many years I've enjoyed this delicacy I've noticed how the container was modified.... to hold more raisins! xDDDDD

Additionally, we have this agreement to wear particular color/design for New Year's, and this year it was plaid/checkered that won. The polo shirt I'm wearing was a new one my mom bought for me just for the occasion, but I'm liking it so far because of the colors. :D

Sadly we forgot to take pictures yesterday which I really regret (guh), but it's the thought that counts I would say! *nod nod*

So for a late Christmas gift Kai got me a little kitty plushie from The Gift Factory! It was a cute black kitty named Jinx. Then we each got ourselves something for our Nintendo DS Lites: An Apollo Justice Crystal Case for her and an Airsoft NDS Lite case for me. Pictures below!

We'll be celebrating Christmas Day dinner here again at the house so hooray for more bonding. But hopefully I get to see Kai soon during this Christmas break to hand her her gifts!

ダレンのモールショー。(だれんのもおるしょう) Daren no Mōru Shō. trans. Darren's Mall Show.

So anyway, on to the topic at hand!! After heading to school to make some final adjustments to the pair project, I headed off to TriNoma at around 2 o'clock to get a good enough parking spot to settle in until 7 when the concert would start. I ended up parking on the roof deck in the third row so good job to me. xDD

So anyway, I loitered around for a bit, dropped by Saizen to buy myself another supporter for my calf that was really killing me (yei everything Php85!) and then spent the rest of the time hanging around the activity center where the concert would be. After buying myself a mango shake I then ran into some friends. Finding out that there were CDs and posters being sold I went to get in line. Sadly only the first 100 to buy CDs would get stubs to get them signed by Darren after the Meet&Greet which I wasn't able to go through either so howell; still bought a copy of his EP Human. T'was only Php200 so I figured I'd give this to my girlfriend because she wasn't able to enjoy the show with me tonight! (>u<)b

Ultimately ended up meeting one of my friend's friends Rie (who I eventually spent the rest of the concert with). Darren came on-stage at around 5pm to sound-check/tune his instruments (acoustic guitar and electric piano) so everyone was making quite a fuss. The stub holders were being escorted to their seats so Rie and I were staying behind the barricades with a huge Red Vines poster UNTIL THIS LADY COMES UP AND GIVES US A-CARDHOLDER TICKETS TO THE FRONT HALF OF THE AUDIENCE WHAT THE HELL!! We were so stoked and grateful and just basically acted like a Harry and Ron pair who just got a big ass pack of Red Vines for Christmas! So we scooted on over to the side entrance and got it, but our sign was taken away so boo them. But hey WE GOT IN!!

The concert started at a little past 7pm and lasted for about an hour. Darren was on a roll with song after song! He sang 17 songs~
-I'll Make a Man Out of You
-Jealousy
-Part of Your World
-Human
-Hey Soul Sister
-Granger Danger
-Good ol' Moon
-Don't You
-No Way
-The Coolest Girl
-Sami
-Go the Distance/-Somewhere Over the Rainbow
-Not Alone
-Gotta Get Back to Hogwarts
-Stutter
-Teenage Dream
-Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
If I forgot songs I apologize. I'll edit stuff if needed later on. Pictures (decent blurry ones anyway) to follow as well.  Pictures are up!

T'was a fun fun night, but I'm kinda sad that I wasn't able to spend it with Kai. T^T Next time!!! Didn't stay for the entire duration of the Meet&Greet+CD/Poster Signing since it was getting late and I didn't exactly have the luxury to magically get a stub. I'm just grateful to have gotten a seat to watch him closer than I originally expected.

BUT YOU KNOW THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT'S HAPPENED THAT I GOT FREE TICKETS TO GET INTO A CONCERT. x)
