It's been quite a while since I've shared lyrics here, but I think this one deserves a place for sentimental purposes. One of the primary reasons why is because this was a song that I've heard when I was 9. My older cousins and parents, uncles and aunts sang this to my grandparents on their Golden Anniversary. The title's You and I by Petula Clark. It was only recently that I learned of the artist and retrieved the lyrics, but it sure makes one nostalgic.
But perhaps one of the more interesting tidbits about this song is that its meaning holds more than just of two people in a relationship, but of a family sticking together as well. Enjoy the lyrics!

運命。（うんめい）Unmei. trans. Destiny.
DESTINY. The title of Seigaku 5th Cast's ballad. I finally got my hands on the soundtrack of Final Match Second (big thanks to the TeniMyu LJ Community!). My first agenda as soon as I got the tracks was to listen to this particular song. Yukio and Toru told me to pay particular attention to this song when I asked about it because they thought it was a perfect testimony to a lot of the things that were happening. "Could be applied to the friendship we have now" or somewhere along those lines.
So I listened. I tried transcribing the lyrics (I had scans of the booklet that came with the soundtrack from the same community) but of course playing things by ear can be tricky. So I searched around and stumbled upon the English translation from a frequent poster to the community, fencer-x. I asked if I could use her translation, so credit to her for that!! ^_________^b
I WAS IN BLISS WHEN I FOUND THE ENGLISH TRANSLATION. ;A; It was so..... beautiful. I couldn't agree with Yukio and Toru enough. (>~<) I loved the soundtrack so much I immediately put the songs on my iPod to listen to. In that picture I'm listening to DESTINY. (~u~) Love love love it!

I stumbled upon this song quite a while back but never really got the chance to share it properly. The first time I heard Lene Marlin's What If was when it was used for a Prince of Tennis Perfect Pair (Tezuka and Fuji~) MV on YouTube (below). Credit to milkyxduckie for the MV!
The lyrics just go around and around (especially the chorus), but it's a great melody and you wouldn't really need that much to say with this song, as the chorus captures most of what it's trying to say. ^____^v This is a great love song.

Since I finished recording a fandub of this particular song earlier this afternoon (as requested by my girlfriend), I decided to share the lyrics with you since they're just so cute and meaningful. With yet another meeting of the tennis club cancelled due to lack of attendance or the constant downpour of rain, I found myself commuting home once again. With one earphone jammed into my ear, I listened to songs from my iPod along the way. The rain eased up a little when I entered my subdivision when a particular song started to play: 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' by Savage Garden.
I had my umbrella perched overhead to shield me from the drizzle as I turned into my street and slowly walked its length; the entire time the song was playing. I admit, the coronation song from American Idol Season 8 didn't really sink too well with me the first time around, but as I listened to it a few more times, I really came to appreciate it as well as the message the lyrics gave. Both American Idol winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert gave their own rendition on the song for the first singles, so I'd like to share with you their versions; you decide which one sounds better. I give credit to AdmiralZero from YouTube for these.
The lyrics supplied below need no further explanation, I hope. The message is quite blatantly obvious and will not need further context reading... at least from my point of view. This is one of the songs I can actually relate to... in terms of myself and of my relationship with my girlfriend.

I'll be referring to one of my previous entries (Again) because basically, I just realized that the English translation I referred to, now that I look back on it, could better be used to apply to somebody else I know. ^____________________________^
I was singing the song to myself in the shower because I was bored when halfway through, I stopped and had a massive breakthrough. I then started to sing the song again, but slower as my mind started piecing things together; making connections with the lyrics and the possible facts that this friend of mine was going through... And here's what I discovered. The lyrics to the song found in that previous entry, are italicized:
It seems like I'm chasing after the past = his mind is looking for someone from his past
I write it down in the pages of my notebook = he keeps a written journal
'Cause I'm looking for the me that is still honest = he still has those feelings for someone deep, DEEP within himself
And I will always remember the depths of the darkness = a bad childhood experience, I reckon
I'll lose this feeling of being so helpless = he wants to try and overcome such a bad experience and rise above it
I've really messed up = he made some mistakes in terms of his relationship
But try to realize that I have closed my eyes
Just because the world is too harsh
And I'm willing to blind myself = in accordance to that past experience, he doesn't want to face reality anymore and be in his own little bubble that's secure where he can do what he wants
And my heart turned red with this passion
And it almost consumed my very being = he was about to be completely drowned in his thoughts of jealousy and ruining another relationship (i.e. mine and Kai's)
And I really want to scream out = he wants someone who can understand him
How do you unlock this door that has no key? = the door, I would imagine, would symbolize coming back out into reality, to stop being caught up in the past
And the things I once abandoned
I want to try and find again = well, this one is pretty obvious; looking for the person whom he still loves and who still loves him back that he let go of before

I'll be quick with this one because it's something I feel should be shared. It's just interesting that the opening and ending songs of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood could convey such deep messages within its lyrics... and both songs would be things I can refer to, actually.
YUI's song 'Again' was chosen for the opening to this anime series, but I'll be focusing on the English fandub of this song done by geekymckgeekstein from YouTube, whom I applaud. I'm actually trying to record it myself, but this is the trouble of trying to speak fast. Woo.
Actually, referring to this English translation of the song made me realize that this song can actually be applied to my girlfriend right about now. FMA is apparently giving me a sign of sorts.
