物思いにふける。(ものおもいにふける)Monoomoi ni Fukeru. trans. Lost in Thought.

It's the start of the second week of my three week vacation. Then I asked myself: What should I do with my time? Like vacations spent before I'd enter a habit of chucking away a bedtime and sleep whenever I feel sleep coming to me. So sometimes I'd end up sleeping well past midnight and even into the wee hours of the morning.

I suppose it's about time to kick that habit and learn to start sleeping at the appropriate time, so Kazuo and Yukio tell me. While I don't have much anything to do I should learn to sleep at the right time and get the right amount of rest. At least at this point I can still decide when I can sleep but once school restarts on the 15th I'm a dead duck with an uncertain bedtime.

FotoCanvas and Audacity have been frequent programs I've had open on my laptop as of late, doing some TeniMyu-related stuff such as making background strips (for the lack of a proper term) and fandubs (today I did Shizukanaru Toushi and Tensou Sentai Goseiger ).

Here's a few samples of said background strips I've finished doing if you guys want to have a look see. Be sure to credit though. I spent quite some time putting that together.

EDIT: Pictures have been uploaded! Click on the labels below the pictures for a larger size.

The album's here: Tenimyu Photobucket Album

So that's about it for this post, I guess. I should try getting to sleep now.

And it's raining outside. Looks like the rainy season's finally starting to settle in here in the Philippines. And about time, too.
テニスの王子様ニンテンドーDSのゲーム。(てにすのおうじさまにんてんどDSのげむ)Tenisu no Oujisama Nintendo DS no Gemu. trans. The Prince of Tennis Nintendo DS Game.

Since I wanted to start making use of my DS again and play something on it besides the usual Rhythm Heaven, Trauma Center and Pokemon Platinum, I decided to add two new-old games to my R4.

Tennis no Oujisama Driving Smash: Side King and Tennis no Oujisama Driving Smash: Side Genius. They're games where you manage a team of 4 players from the anime. The difference, you ask? The players that you can choose from!

Side King has players from Rikkai, Hyoutei and Higa, while Side Genius has players from Seigaku, Shitenhouji and Fudomine.

I made two teams for each game. For Side King, my first team is comprised of Sanada, Atobe, Niou and Yagyuu. My second team includes Yukimura, Shishido, Hiyoshi and Kirihara. For Side Genius, my first team is comprised of Tezuka, Fuji, Shiraishi and Oshitari Kenya. My second team includes Echizen, Fuji (again), Kikumaru and Kintaro.

I'm enjoying it. And hearing them talk sometimes is fun to listen to as well! I don't mind it at all that both these games are in Japanese. xDD

忙しい日。(いそがしいひ)Isogashii Hi. trans. Busy Day.

So yesterday spend the day with my mom, accompanying her to several places like check out our unit in Pasig and go to the grocery. Quite a different feeling as compared to staying home the whole day and doing stuff on my laptop.

Yesterday was also the day I drove again after about two weeks vacation from sitting in the driver's seat. It was the farthest I've driven to date. Yei~ ^___^v

I got Chuckie this morning. What nostalgia. I lost track of how many years I've been drinking this stuff on a daily basis before until my parents stopped buying. And miraculously I was given one this morning. xD

And on a different note, my laptop clock has been wonky lately. @.@ My wall clock and cellphone say 9:57am, And my laptop says 9:28am. >>

ルーキーズ 卒業#2。(るきずそつぎょう#2)Rukizu Sotsugyou #2. trans. Rookies Graduation #2.

I have returned with a tabulation of the graduation 'speeches' of the members they dedicated to Kawatou on the baseball field. From Skewed Subs. ^__^ I got teary-eyed with each speech the first time I watched it, including some of Shinjou's epic lines.

Shirota Yuu = EPICSAUCE.

"You're not the only one hurting! We're all hurting. That's also... our Nikogaku's injury... Don't worry. You ain't gonna be left behind. Let's all go... to Koushien." (Shinjou talking about Wakana's dislocated finger)
"I'll hit it with this..." (after promptly tossing away his bat and grabbing Wakana's for his turn at bat)
The Speeches:

"The time when we were running with everything we've got towards Koushien was really the best. But then, as I thought, the best times... were the two years you swiftly ran with us. Thank you for everything!" (Center Outfield, Sekikawa Shuuta)
"So far, you are the first teacher I've ever liked. I like you a lot! Thank you for everything!" (Right Outfield, Okada Yuuya)
"A life's worth... I got a life's worth of memories to be proud of! Sensei... For these two years... Thank you for everything!" (Left Outfield, Imaoka Shinobu)
"Someday, when I find a new dream, once I achieve it, you'll be the first one to know, nya~ Thank you for everything!" (First Base, Yufune Tetsuo)
"I feel fucking relieved I won't be seeing your damn face starting tomorrow... or so I thought...but... You are the best! For teaching me things other than fighting, and teaching me things more fun than that. Thank you for everything!" (Shortstop, Hiyama Kiyooki)
"Hey rookie! Someone who's a passionate nut like you, and believing in people that easily. Crushed with all your might.... and in the end be hurt... But, well... I cannot hate that kind of man. That time... when you made me run around the grounds once again, Thank you for everything!" (Catcher, Wakana Tomochika)
"I will never forget the palm. I will definitely never forget you. I... I want to be someone like you. Sensei! For believing in us 'til the very end... Thank you for everything!" (Third Base, Shinjou Kei)
"Kawatou! I'm glad you met a genius like me who'll change the world. But... I also... for meeting you... I too... I too... I too! Well... Thank you for everything!" (Pinch-hitter, Hiratsuka Taira)
"You taught me... that there is nothing wasted in great efforts. You taught me to have a spirit that never gives up. You taught me how to cherish a dream. I'm really grateful to you. Thank you for everything!" (Pitcher, Aniya Keiichi)
"Just like you said, we were able to graduate with a smile! I'm glad I had confidence in your words! Sensei. For giving us faith, for giving us courage, I deeply thank you for everything!" (Captain, Mikoshiba Tooru)

ミュジカル「テニスの王子様」、再び。(みゅじかる「てにすのおうじさま」、ふたたぶ)Myujikaru [Tenisu no Oujisama], Futatabi. trans. Musical The Prince of Tennis, Again.

So I return with another post about TeniMyu, the one thing that make perhaps the biggest impact on my life. Why the sudden entry, you ask? That will easily be answered by the fact that the run of this musical that started back in 2003 has finally come to end last Sunday with the Senshuuraku show of Dream Live 7th.

I guess this entry would be meant for my own personal thoughts as a fan. So here goes everything.

So as I may have mentioned in one of my previous Tenimyu-related posts, I only started becoming a rabid fan of this some two years ago. This in effect started a chain reaction that opened my world to not only this musical, but to the anime and the manga counterparts, as well as other projects the actors involved in this have. TeniMyu was literally what started everything. And I'm humbly grateful to have been exposed to this masterpiece.

I realized that in the span of those seven long years of TeniMyu's run, it brought so many people together, and some others probably closer than intended (can't blame me for fantasizing some nice TakiKime or ShiroAi or WaFuru here and there xP). You never really know. But this is one thing I do know; I've said it already before but it can't hurt to repeat it: It starts and ends with TeniMyu. I'm confident that even if things have officially ended it's not really over.

The memories will remain.... The unforgettable effort spent on perfecting a dance routine or sing a note on key for the actors, and even the opportunity of having met each other is a prized treasure for them, I'm sure. ^____^ Without them, TeniMyu wouldn't be held in much esteem, nor would be as epic as it has become.

すべてのキャストメンバーの、本当にありがとうございました!
(Translation: All of the cast members, I deeply thank you for everything!)

I salute Ueshima-sensei and his shining brilliance with this musical the past seven years. As TeniMyu's 'father', Ueshima-sensei guided this musical to become as successful as it is and will always be; engraving it deeply into the hearts and minds of not only the cast and crew involved in it, but the fans who support them as well. Myself included.

上島ーせんせい、本当にありがとうございました!!
(Translation: Ueshima-sensei, I deeply thank you for everything!!)

Without all of you, I definitely wouldn't be half the person I could be today.
Thank you for all the laughs, the cries and the life lessons.
Thank you for the bonds.
Thank you for making me believe in hitsuzen.
Thank you for the memories until now.

だから、ありがとう。すべてしてください。
(Translation: So, thank you. For everything.)
ルーキーズ 卒業。(るきずそつぎょう)Rukizu Sotsugyou. trans. Rookies Graduation.

So earlier this morning I finally finished watching this J-drama-turned-movie finale of Rookies entitled the title of the blog. Basic synopsis include the regulars of the Futakotamagawa Baseball team enter into their third and final year of high school, with one last chance to achieve their dream of reaching Koshien (National High School Baseball tournament), guided by their teacher Kawato Koichi.

With all the cussing and stuff this series has given us, there's an equal taste of lessons to be learned and dreams to admire. It really makes you feel part of the team's struggle to achieve their dream.

'Flutter towards your dreams! Glitter into tomorrow! Aim for Koshien! by Kawato Koichi'

That is what Kawato repeats to the team, and becomes their drive to win their matches. All the raw emotion is definitely felt as I watched this 2-hour long finale to the awesome rendition of the manga that I was never able to finish because I couldn't find all of the chapters.

Along with Kawato and the team: Mikoshiba, Aniya, Shinjou, Wakana, Hiyama, Sekikawa, Yufune, Okada, Imaoka and Hiratsuka, I enjoyed accompanying them running after their dreams. It's inspired me to never give up until the very end and believe in myself with every fiber of my being.

I started watching this because my favorite Shirota Yuu was in it. And as I watched this, I realized just how epically awesome it was that he got the best scenes and delivered the best lines in the film in my opinion when things were getting tough for them in the final match.

What got me though were the graduation speeches of the graduating students that they delivered one by one to Kawato on the baseball field. Knowing a little Rookies background having read some of the manga and followed the drama from start to end, I can definitely and truly understand the meaning and sincerity behind those words, and tears started flowing from my eyes with each speech leading up to Mikoshiba's.

I'm all too late in watching this, I know. A year late, even. But having finally watched this, I can close the book on this part of my Jdrama fanaticisms and continue with my head held high. This series will always inspire me! And I'm so glad I watched it from start to end!

To the directors, producers, cast and crew of the drama and film Rookies and Rookies Graduation, and the creators of the manga......

本当にありがとうございます!!!
(Translation: I deeply thank you for everything!!!)

After sleeping over at Kai's house yesterday, earlier this morning while we were lazing about on her spacious bed, she pushed my left shoulder back a little to rough and now it hurts. T_T I feel like Tezuka Kunimitsu.

Now, here at my cousin's place for a joint birthday celebration, I realized that the back of my right foot was hurting a lot. And this happens when I don't have school anymore. What's up with that? D8

^___^b Aren't they so cute cuddled together like that? xD

My blockmate Izza positioned them so I could take pictures of them. We were in CS class waiting for our teacher to grade our project. xD So we had a picture together too. Just for memory's sake.
We were classmates in all three of our classes this past summer semester, after all. Summer semester was worthwhile with Izza. xDDD ^^b

So what's with late nights, you may ask. Due to schoolwork that needed to be done, my classmate Izza and I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to work on our CS Project that was due by 3:30pm today.

Not to mention Histo and SA Finals to worry about today.

I'm sure to be getting a scolding from some people later on, but like I keep saying: It's the final stretch. And summer semester is about to end.

Thank goodness.

新しいノートブック。(あたらしいのうとぶっく)Atarashii Notobukku. trans. New Notebook.

Today Kai and I met for lunch in Jollibee, then went to National since it was early. We stumbled upon some notebooks and we bought notebooks for one another. This was the one she got for me:

There's an inside story with why she got me this particular design. Something to do with who I consider my new virtual family (not the same bunch I referred to before :P). Thanks love~
珍味 #3。(ちんみ#3)Chinmi #3. trans. Tidbit #3.

Today my former blockmate Bea gave out the invites for her debut this coming Saturday. There was a funny conversation that happened when she, Izza (my blockmate/classmate in all my classes this summer) and I met up after our respective classes.
Izza: Dude, Baul and Pen are going!
Me: *laughs* What the hell? 'Baul' and 'Pen'?
Izza: *laughs* No, I meant 'Paul' and 'Ben'!!!
Of course Bea laughs along. and Izza and I continue the conversation in the tricycle ride to our next class.
Izza: They're always together.
Me: Well yeah. But it's less confusing to say Ben and then Paul. Because if you say Paul and then P..Ben.
Izza: *laughs* =))
Me: DDDD8 See, I told you it was confusing!!! It just sounds like ballpen (BaulPen)!!
xDD That was a real laughfest.

珍味 #2。(ちんみ#2)Chinmi #2. trans. Tidbit #2.

My family and I went to hear Mass earlier today. As I looked along the pew where we sat, I noticed that all of us sans my mom were wearing a white shirt.

When I told my dad about it, he began listing down other patterns.
1. The ones on the side (him and my brother) wore a combination of white shirt and blue pants, and the ones in the middle (me and my sister) wore a combination of white shirt and black bottom (pants and skirt respectively).
2. The ones to the left of my mom (me and my dad) wore black footwear, while the ones to the right (my siblings) wore white.
3. The ones in the middle (me and my sister) wore glasses.

xDD

Yeeeeah. That was a lot of fun. xP

運命。(うんめい)Unmei. trans. Destiny.

DESTINY. The title of Seigaku 5th Cast's ballad. I finally got my hands on the soundtrack of Final Match Second (big thanks to the TeniMyu LJ Community!). My first agenda as soon as I got the tracks was to listen to this particular song. Yukio and Toru told me to pay particular attention to this song when I asked about it because they thought it was a perfect testimony to a lot of the things that were happening. "Could be applied to the friendship we have now" or somewhere along those lines.

So I listened. I tried transcribing the lyrics (I had scans of the booklet that came with the soundtrack from the same community) but of course playing things by ear can be tricky. So I searched around and stumbled upon the English translation from a frequent poster to the community, fencer-x. I asked if I could use her translation, so credit to her for that!! ^_________^b

I WAS IN BLISS WHEN I FOUND THE ENGLISH TRANSLATION. ;A; It was so..... beautiful. I couldn't agree with Yukio and Toru enough. (>~<) I loved the soundtrack so much I immediately put the songs on my iPod to listen to. In that picture I'm listening to DESTINY. (~u~) Love love love it!

Here's the lyrics. Kanji, romaji and English~

It's like we, who were born in different places,
Have managed to come together as one here, like brothers.
You're you, and I'm the same old me.
We became friends even while wandering confused.

Shukumei unmei soretomo hitsuzen
Omae no namida wa ore no kuyashisa
Omae ga ite kurete yokatta
Sharing the same time, our neediness became responsibility
And we learned things like helping each other along
And supporting one another.
Perhaps it was fate, or destiny--or maybe just inevitable.
Your tears became my own frustration.
I'm so glad you were there.

While we were together, I came to accept the parts of you that annoyed me
As an irreplaceable aspect of your individuality.
I understand all your good and bad points
Because we're friends

And the sheer number of memories bundled together grows huge and forms a knot.

珍味 #1。(ちんみ#1)Chinmi #1. trans. Tidbit #1.

Time I brought back the Tidbit page. But instead of sharing trivia from before, it'll be those little snippets of stuff I find amusing. Here's the first.

I most always take a shower in my parent's room. Earlier this evening I did just that. When I settled back in my room after getting dressed, my mom was like "You're finished already? Why didn't I see you?"

"I passed by. I even blocked the TV for a few seconds."

"I didn't see you. Even Daddy says he didn't see you! You teleported, didn't you?" She laughs and goes back into their room.

Yeah, mom. I teleported. xP

考えを俳諧。(かんがえをはいかい)Kangae wo Haikai. trans. Wandering Thoughts.

For the lack of anything else to do (and procrastinating while doing so), I decided to type a random entry today about my little inquiries concerning the group of people I've been a fan of for almost two years: the group that is TeniMyu. With the 21 musicals they's done so far (not counting Dream Live 7th that just finished its first run in Kobe), it's a wonder how close all those actors get in the time they spend with one another.

I was talking with Toru yesterday and he says he's quite a big fan of the franchise and was lucky enough to have watched a few musicals when they came out; particularly when Seigaku 4th cast took the stage (that's from Progressive Match Higa - Dream Live 6th).

He and I were talking about this little collage I made of TeniMyu that Yukio asked me to do for him composed of different pictures of the actors. Doing that little project helped me realize one thing: IT STARTS AND ENDS WITH TENIMYU. I've noticed in the line of musicals, dramas and what-have-you that goes on in the entertainment buzz of Japan, it all leads back to this musical where a grand cast of about 133 people (I counted xD) have starred in.

Putting into consideration the other projects these actors engage in before or after their time as part of the TeniMyu cast, it wouldn't be a surprise if they become the center of interconnections in the J-drama world. Each individual actor pulls in others not part of the TeniMyu franchise, and in contrast end up expanding their connections in the long run. A nice system, I'd imagine. ^___^b

Here are a few examples:
Shirota Yuu (but of course he gets first dibs!), 2nd cast Tezuka Kunimitsu, starred in quite a number of J-dramas and still continues to do so even today! Some of the dramas to mention would be: Team Batista no Eiko, the Koshonin franchise (series and movie), Rookies (and its movie Rookies: Sotsugyou) and Samurai High School (aka Samurai Seventeen).

Aiba Hiroki, 2nd, 3rd and for a short time 5th cast Fuji Syuusuke, has a few of his own movies and series to brag about: Sukitomo, Tadashii Ouji no Tsukurikata and as Ikenami Ryuunosuke in the popular sentai series Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.

Watanabe Daisuke, 4th cast Tezuka Kunimitsu, is best known outside the TeniMyu universe to replace Kato Keisuke as Saki Giichi in the Takumi-kun Series movies 2 and 3. He stars opposite Hamao Kyousuke, 4th cast Kikumaru Eiji, who plays Hayama Takumi, as well as Agri in the newest sentai series Tensou Sentai Goseiger.

Furukawa Yuuta, 4th cast Fuji Syuusuke, starred in Fuuma no Kojirou and its musical counterpart, and will become a Kamen Rider in an upcoming Kamen Rider Trilogy movie.

Sakamoto Shougo, 4th cast Echizen Ryouma, won the role of Ciel Phantomhive in the first Kuroshitsuji musical, starring alongside Aoyagi Ruito, Original Hyoutei Cast's Mukahi Gakuto and Uehara Takuya, Shitenhouji A Cast's Oshitari Kenya.

Saito Takumi, Original Hyoutei Cast's Oshitari Yuushi, is most famous for his sash of yaoi movies, co-starring with Aiba Hiroki in Sukitomo, with Kotani Yoshikazu, 2nd cast Kawamura Takashi, in Boys Love.

It's sometimes interesting as well that there are some J-dramas or J-movies where the main cast is composed entirely of TeniMyu actors!!

Here's a few I know:
Tokyo Ghost Trip
Yagami Ren (Original Rikkai Cast's Yukimura Seiichi), JURI (Yamabuki's Original Akutsu Jin), Takiguchi Yukihiro (3rd Cast's Oishi Shuuichiro), Kiriyama Renn (Original Rikkai Cast's Marui Bunta) and Baba Ryouma (5th Cast's Tezuka Kunimitsu), plus Shindou Gaku (Rokkaku's Kurobane Harukaze)

Takumi-Kun III: Bibou no Detail
Watanabe Daisuke, Hamao Kyousuke, Takiguchi Yukihiro, Baba Ryouma, Acaba Mio (Rikkai 2 Cast's Marui Bunta), Saito Yasuka (Higa Cast's Hirokoba Rin) and Bishin Kawasumi (Shitenhouji B Cast's Zaizen Hikaru)

Cafe Daikanyama
Aiba Hiroki, Baba Toru (Original Rikkai Cast's Yagyuu Hiroshi), Kiriyama Renn and Ookawa Genki (Original Rikkai Cast's Kirihara Akaya)

Life must be a hoot for them. xD
車の事故。(くるまのじこ)Kuruma no Jiko. trans. Car Accident.

Now before anybody starts panicking, I want to make it clear that I'm absolutely fine. No physical injuries whatsoever. ^^b I have my license as well; wasn't confiscated since I was what you'd call the victim of the accident.

So lemme fill in the details of this little event that happened earlier on my way to school. There was this guy who had just made a U-Turn and was veering to the right just when I was passing, so impact = dent in the front driver's door. -_______-

Of course we both pulled to the side and talked about it. I didn't really get that much angry since I wasn't exactly injured - but I realized I should have been 'specially when I realized that that caused the handle of the driver's seat to be almost inaccessible from the outside. Dammit.

Anyway, this van stopped and the driver was saying how the guy who collided with me - a student like me, I'd think - had a hit-and-run situation earlier somewhere further along the road; he had bumped into this motorcycle where the dude got injured in the process and swore he didn't see him. Same excuse he had with me, actually. Panicked and there. Ugh.

Called up Dad and had him talk with the kid, and we agreed to just have his family pay the expenses. We had a lengthly discussion with the good old MMDA cop who came to the scene about how things went, asking me to consider filing a police case against them especially with regards to insurance in the future. Car repairs aren't exactly cheap ya know. ;A;

EDIT: Look what happened. ;A;

Thankfully everything is still okay and working. I'm thankful that I can still lock/unlock the car with the key, though it's a tight squeeze.

We'll figure things out tonight/tomorrow since I have to stay in school until 7pm today since the car's coding. Not all that long of a wait now~ ^^b Right now I'm chilling in the school library.

統一作法選挙。(とういつさほうせんきょ)Touitsusahousenkyo. trans. Nationwide Local Elections

A long name, I realized. xD But yeah. Elections were hectic today. My family and I (my siblings and I + my dad as first time/re-registered voters) went to our assigned precinct place relatively close to the house to vote. The heat, the long lines and the waiting was quite the challenge. Indelible ink is annoying too. -.-

I guess we could thank my dad (and his short patience) for getting us to move along and get a number to fall in line to vote and finished quite soundly. What had us wait so long was my mom who was in a different precinct, different building (it was just in one school).

My primary complaint about it was that there was no actual system, so everybody was moving back and forth, looking for numbers to fall in line. Absolutely no organization, if not just a little. Guh.

After lunch at Flapjacks, Techno Hub, we headed back home, now enjoying the aircon in my parents' room. ^^b

行楽。(こうらく)Kouraku. trans. Outing/Pleasure Trip.

So yesterday I spent the day with my girlfriend Kai and two of our friends Dai and Eki. We went to play badminton in Celebrity Sports Club for about two hours. A 3-set doubles match with Kai and I vs. Dai and Eki. We took the first set while they ended up winning the next two sets. The second set was pretty close with a score of 20-22. Then there were a few single matches. Me vs. Dai, Eki vs. Kai, Me vs. Eki and Dai vs. Eki.

I'm happy to report I won both of my singles matches. ^___________^b

Afterwards we took a cab to Eastwood. We ate an early dinner in one of the restaurants in the new mall: Momo! Cafe. The servings were big (always great for sharing), and same goes for the glasses they used for water. The ones they would typically use for milkshakes or halo-halos. xDD Hahahaha.

After dinner we settled our food for a little bit when we noticed a few booths outside. There was an inflatable slide for the kids, a surfing game and a MECHANICAL BULL. All of us were interested and decided to try it out. After all it was just Php60 a try. So we all gave it a go. First was Kai. She managed to hang on for a good 31 seconds. Then it was me. I got to hang on for 38 seconds. Woohoo~ After me was Dai, who hung on for 21 seconds. And strangely during Eki's turn the bull was being very very rough, but managed to hang on for 27 seconds. Wheeeeeeeee~

Then we ended up going to Timezone shortly after a quick browse at the bake sale where Dai bought something for her mom for Mother's Day. It's so fun to stay at the karaoke booth to sing. ^^ I got to sing First Love, Hello and No Air among others for my favorite girl~ -^^-

Oh yeah. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TOO ALL THE MOMS!!! :D

It’s time to go back to the craze for a little bit. While (still) waiting to acquire a copy of Final Match Rikkai Second (my friends from Japan tell me I’ve missed half of my TeniMyu life not having watched it yet T~T), I’ll set my sights for this finally final TeniMyu. At least until Ueshima-sensei decides to do Shin TeniPuri. xD

They’ll be having two three day shows; from 5月7日~5月9日 (May 7-9) in Kobe, and 5月20日~5月23日(May 20-23) in Yokohama. I wish the TeniMyu cast good luck! ^o^/ Summer classes will be over for the last show so Kai and I have this wishful thinking of being able to go watch it. DD8

Yei for wishful thinking~
